Fastest Way to Get 99 Firemaking in OSRS (2026 Guide)

Firemaking is one of the fastest 99s in Old School RuneScape if you do it right. If your goal is quick XP with minimal thinking, this is one of the easiest skills to max.

Quests (Skip Early Levels)

Do a few early quests so you don’t waste time on low logs.

* The Grand Tree

* Sea Slug

* Recipe for Disaster (partial)

Quick XP, less early grind.

Best Method

Wintertodt (50–99)

This is the move. Almost everyone does this for a reason.

* 200k–400k XP/hr

* Makes GP while training

* Low effort once you get used to it

You’re basically training and profiting at the same time.

Levels 1–50

1–15

Regular logs

15–30

Oak logs

30–50

Willow logs

Keep it simple, don’t overthink it.

Levels 50–99

Go straight to Wintertodt and stay there.

Bring:

* Warm clothing (4 pieces)

* Food (cakes are fine)

* Knife + hammer

Loop:

Chop → Fletch → Burn → Repeat

XP:

* 50–70: ~150k/hr

* 70–90: ~250k/hr

* 90–99: 300k+/hr

Don’t Want Wintertodt?

You can just burn logs instead:

50–99

* Maple (cheap)

* Yew (faster)

* Magic (fastest, expensive)

More click-heavy, no rewards, costs GP.
